Long Weekend in Hong Kong

YO! So one of the reasons we chose Guangzhou as our destination to live back in 2019 was because of it's HUGE airport and it's proximity to Hong Kong. Ash and I visited Hong for the Lunar New Year of the Dragon (2012) and loved everything about it. The diversity, the nature (believe it or not), the food and especially the music. We were hoping to spend A LOT of time there during our second tenure in the Middle Kingdom, but alas, CoVid disrupted our plans. Needless to say once the borders opened back, HK shot to the top of our list of places to visit. Once they dropped ALL CoVid restrictions (no test necessary to cross OR get back in), we pulled the trigger, took personal days on Friday and hopped a late high speed train on Thursday night. The 40 minute trip was shorter than the cab ride through Guangzhou to the South Train Station and on Friday we surprised the girls with a trip to HK Disney, followed by some exploring and good food. Here are the shots!

Obligatory pre-leave train station pic

The ride was so short, this man sat like this the entire ride!

We randomly ran into an old friend!

Disney! It was a well kept secret, the girls were so surprised! Beauty weather too!

Toy Story Land

Love the smile

Posing for the Iron Man ride

I think it was unanimous, HK Disney is better than Shanghai Disney

What a weekend. Unfortunately we had to return to the mainland on Sunday, but it was a blast. Hopefully we can get back there sometime in the next 100 days before our time in China comes to a close. Love and miss you all. See you soon!
