Huangpu Trail Running

One awesome part of living in our district, Huangpu, is that there is a ton of green space. Mostly mountains, but very tropical and green. There are a handful of runners at my school (3) and we have started to explore Trail Running! Not something I could really get into in Illinois, but really fun... even if my wife thinks I'm crazy.
There are some gorgeous views in the mountains

Guangzhou at sunrise from the top of Bull Head Mountain
Finding new trails leads to family hikes too!
Exploring
Up in the clouds
A little bit more rustic of a trail
These little girls can HIKE!
Luis (my trail running comrade) after our first race.
Me getting picked on about my crummy shoes. Chinese people have fancy equipment. Unfortunately I can't find ANYTHING in my size... I wear 47 and the biggest size you can find around here is 45. :(
Peace
Goofin for the cameras
Better shot of that dude making fun of me. Turns out he is a shoe influencer with 500k followers on Chinese social media.
29km, 2000m elevation in 5 hours and 5 minutes. I got 49 of 260. Not bad for our first race in old street running shoes.
The look of determination
We run up that

We run up this too
And even sometimes we have to climb...
Through bamboo groves
And whatever these plants are...

It's all worth it when you get to run down the mountains... that is if you don't twist an ankle! Till next time friends!
