We have arrived in the Middle Country! Internet has been a bit of a struggle thus far, but we seem to have gotten a semi-stable connection at the moment so I am dropping this like it's hot. After 51+ hours of travel, we are officially quarantining (real quarantining, not social distancing quarantining). 14 days and we will hopefully be out of here. Enjoy some images from the journey.

Baggage Check

Here we go...
The plane to Korea was probably 30% full. Korea Air was really good.
Incheon Airport is pretty cool...

The girls were excited to meet AIRSTAR, until they did. |
Boarding flight #2
Many people were dressed like this. We wore our masks the entire journey, but forgot the hazmat suits.
The flight from Korea was 100% full.
Waiting for processing at Baiyun Airport, Guangzhou. It took us 5.5 hours from landing to get to our quarantine hotel.
Contact tracing processing round #132. There is a legit difference between US and China handling of the CoVid-19.
Line to get on a bus to the hotels
The kids (and the other kids nearby) finished the entire Lion King during the wait.
Welcome to Guangzhou
we FINALLY made it to a bus. Oh how we missed the Chinese buses.
Alright Cora! |
Last outside moments for two weeks!
This was our original room. We were able to change to another one. But it isn't much bigger.

First round of delivered food. 3x a day they set a bag of food like this outside our door, knock and run. We have no choice, there is no menu and we haven't received a single napkin yet.
Anyway, here we are. Waiting it out for another 12 days. October 28 (China Time) is our expected release date. We are here. If you want to reach out, send an email and we will be happy to hear from you. Our spirits are high and we are doing our best to stay busy. I am going to try and start teaching today, but who knows.
We love and miss you all. Until next time! |
