even though the bulls are absolutely terrible this year, i got the opportunity to go the game last night with a couple of friends. here are a couple of shots... of course they lost to atlanta 104-102, but it was a fun time no less...

OBAMA MANIA

one of my AP students and i, wearing our obama gear on inauguration day. she has an obama shirt on, i am not sure if you can tell. i am wearing my red, white, and blue tie with an obama pin. YEEHAW!!!

service learning trips and health fair

my club, "Build On" (previously known as "Building with Books" went to a book depository on MLK day to help a non profit called "Open Books." the kids did great, under the circumstances. it was freezing cold in the warehouse and the pipes froze and burst. so on top of it being really cold, there were no bathrooms... great time here is me and a couple of my AP students at health fair.
here is the warehouse. it was a mess. we ended up sorting and packaging over 9,000 books though. we work hard.

GUEST SPEAKERS!!!

i had some awesome couple of guest speakers before break. here are a couple of pics.

here is kath and her classmate talking to my AcDec class. these are a bunch of really gifted students. they are a lot of fun. kath did a great job, as always. THANX FOR COMING IN!

this is vic (she has been posted a few times on this blog), she was one of my senior volleyball captains and is now studying at DePaul university (which she got 2 As and 2 Bs in her first tri-semester). she came during her break and gave a speech to my AP freshmen, it was so cute :) one of those moments i work there for.

so, i thought since not everyone that looks at this blog lives in chicago and is enjoying this below freezing weather, i would share some images from this years winter. its been a fun one.

here is my car, parked on the road after one of the snowstorms. i got out with this one without even using the shovel because i am gangster.

at the bears game against the packers. this was the warmest i could be, it was freezing (-45 to be exact). good thing they ended up winning.
